Founder, President and CEO

As a highly accomplished, well recognized expert, and an inventor in the field of Opto-electronics and Optical systems, with over 27 years of professional experience, Mina founded Vivid Medical, a privately held company in July 2007. Her technical expertise, leadership skills, business philosophy, and relentless pursuit to learn and excel, have uniquely positioned her to bring about a successful fresh new approach in establishing an innovative Medical Device company, while fulfilling her long term dream of making a difference in the way we live. Mina believes in collaborative business efforts, shared responsibility, and success through teamwork in a larger network of players that share a similar vision.

Mina's professional career started in 1984 at Xinix corporation followed by KLA-Tencor, designing machine vision and fiber optic sensors for the semiconductor test industry, followed by 11 years as a Member of Technical Staff at Hewlett Packard Laboratories, where she served as an optical expert in various ground breaking computer peripherals technology developments, such as magneto-optics optical storage, DVD+RW, rear projection displays, digital cameras, and more. In 1999 she joined Intuitive Surgical where she designed and successfully transferred to manufacturing Intuitive Surgical's 3D stereo endoscopic imaging system, in a period less than a year, setting the foundation for the first high resolution, high definition 3D visualization on the market with image quality unsurpassed to this day. Following Intuitive Surgical she served as Optical Scientist at Finisar corporation leading numerous Gigabit Transceiver optical assembly design and developments, making solid industry breakthroughs in performance/cost structure of optical LAN/SAN communications. Prior to founding Vivid Medical, she continued her successful career at Philips Lumileds, where she was a core member of the teams developing LED based Rear Projection TV source, and the first automotive LED head lamps, where she invented the first manufacturing scheme and process control, for precise color targeting of LED sources using Lumiramic phosphors.

Mina received a MS. Degree in Applied Physics from University of California San Diego, and a BA Degree in Physics from University of California Santa Cruz, and currently holds 25 granted US patents, plus numerous international and pending applications.
